Rachel Anne McAdams is a Canadian actress, born November 17, 1978 in London, Ontario and grew up in nearby St. Thomas. She graduated from a theater program at York University, Toronto in 2001. She worked steadily as an actress. She found fame in 2004 with starring roles in Mean Girls and The Notebook, and in 2005, she appeared in Wedding Crashers, Red Eye and The Family Stone.
She withdrew from public life in 2006 and 2007 and returned in 2008 starring in Married Life and The Lucky Ones. In 2009, she achieved success with State of Play, The Time Traveler's Wife and Sherlock Holmes and in 2010, Morning Glory and Midnight in Paris.
